Bennett, Jacob

Lehigh Inland Cement Bantam AAA


Jacob Bennett

Jacob is 14 years old and is playing with the CAC Leigh Inland Cement Bantam AAA.  Last year Jacob played on the Bantam Tier One NWZ Outlaws and worked very hard on and off the ice to be able to make the jump to Bantam AAA.  Jacob has played all of  his hockey with Edmonton Minor Hockey Association.

 

Jacob attends Westminster Junior High school and is in Grade 9 and the International Baccalaureate Program and always receives good marks.

 

Jacob also plays volleyball, softball, baseball and in 2006 won the Bronze medal in the Edmonton Public Schools City Wrestling Championships.  Jacob has volunteered at the Crystal Kids Foundation, U of A volleyball tournaments and at his schools.  Jacob regularly mows the lawn and shovels the snow for neighbors.



Porter, Austin

North Edmonton Red Wings, Junior B


Austin Porter

Austin Porter is 20 years old and is in his 3rd year of Junior B with the North Edmonton Red Wings.  Austin started playing hockey at 4 years old.  Growing up Austin played hockey with the Edmonton Minor Hockey Association and was chosen captain of the Midget AAA KC Pats.  The KC Pats Midget AAA placed third at the MAC Cup in 2004.

 

Austin graduated from Eastglen High School with Honors in 2006.  He is currently in his second year of Instrumentation Technology at NAIT.

 

He is supported by his Mom, Lori, Sister, Alisha, and his Dad, Gord.  Austin enjoys movies, playing shinny, playing Golf.



Vieira, Dylan

Northeast Peewee Eagles


Dylan Vieira

Dylan is an 11 year old in his 5th season of hockey.  Dylan started playing hockey in grade 2 and has played his entire hockey with Edmonton Minor Hockey Association.

 

According to his coaches, Dylan can be counted on to work hard each shift of a game and at practice.  He is well liked by his team mates and always acts in a sportsman like manner.  He is really a pleasure to coach.

 

Dylan attends York Academic School in the Challenge Program.  Last year Dylan read 100 books, received the Spanish language and cultural award and also had honors in Language Arts, Science, Math, Spanish, Heath and Music.  He is very involved with the music program and the school patrol at his school.  He is an excellent volunteer.  He volunteers with his schools community service program and for the last 2 years been an excellent role model for his grade two reading buddy.
